Implementation of a Background replacement feature in a car stock management App for Dealers.

The context

Small and medium dealerships required a fast, low-cost way to create “professional-looking” vehicle photos, as well-presented images increase customer engagement with ads.

How I approached the topic

The foundational research involved a series of interviews with internal and external stakeholders, which helped me identify the target audience and the key pain points that needed to be addressed.

Here's what I found: having great photos is expensive…💸

  • A rotating platform costs around 40.000-60.000€

  • A Dedicated photographer to shoot the photos is needed

  • A Professional photographer takes 1 hour per vehicle to shoot and post-process to obtain HQ pictures

  • A non-professional photographer takes 28 minutes per vehicle to shoot the pictures, to upload and edit them

  • Small dealers take photos of at least 5 vehicles a day

From ‘Point-and-shoot’ to Pro-Level results 📸

I designed a feature that enables users to edit images directly within the app after uploading or capturing them via camera. Users can perform batch edits to save time across multiple images or focus on single-image edits for greater precision.
